We now have flash drives, who needs FreeDOS at all. Talk about a non sequitir . Oh come on, there's logic in it, it's just hard to follow, now that we have flash discs we can install real Dos on them, and therfore don't need the FreeDos, but let's hold up a minute, we could that before as well (Mul...

odd connection problem
I've been having a problem with my hub. Every so often I'll get the message [13:23] <-=VectorSigma=-> This hub is running DCH++ v1.0-Release (Plugin API v1.0) on Linux 2.6.16-gentoo-r7 (i686) then it doesn't seem to do anything else. ah, then their website confused me. ShakesPeer is a p2p, or peer to peer file sharing program. It is a client for the DirectConnect protocol. The main goal of ShakesPeer is to create a fully featured client, compatible with DC++, that runs on Mac OS X with a native Aqua GUI. The program is released ...

you shouldn't need any windows discs for Wine. Here's the description from the Wine site: Wine is an Open Source implementation of the Windows API on top of X and Unix. Think of Wine as a compatibility layer for running Windows programs. Wine does not require Microsoft Windows, as it is a completely...

DCH++ freezes up, eats up 97% CPU
I'm running DCH++ 1.0 on Gentoo. In the past week or so my hub's locked up. We average close to 100 users and other stuff on the server (apache, ssh) are fine. The things I notice every time is search spam notices right before the lockup, and then the hub is eating up over 97% CPU. The logs don't sh...

the biggest problem with SP2 is users not realizing that the firewall will pop up a box that asks if a program can access the internet, then when they see the box they don't read it and click block, then complain that the SP broke their program. Go to the firewall section in the control panel and yo...

I can't wait to be able to use DC++ free of WINE. There's a few problems with using it that way that I'd love to not have. A friend of mine with the same problem informed me that DC++ runs a lot more stable if you use CrossOver Office . Although that is for < 0.403, he claims that DC++ 0.4032 is in...

As a hub owner, I'd like to think I'm not in the minority when I say "if you're in my hub, you have to deal with PMs from my moderators." However we don't do more than the occasional mass message from bots, and the mods PM for rule infractions. If the PM function was disabled then what way would we ...

web chat client
I've been using axdc on my site for people to be able to chat in my hub from my website if they can't get in the hub. The problem is it's only for Windows and Internet Explorer. Does anyone know of a more cross platform solution for a web chat DC client? possibly a java applet or something?

LUA scripting plugin is available. I believe that ptotax scripts work with some modifications, but the scripts available for DCH++ do everything I've needed to do. DCH++ is console only, can run as a Windows service (NT/2K/XP only) and runs in Linux. Sedulus's plugins rock, especially for op uses. T...
