well I think it is more easy to with dl sorted on files and not people as I can have up to 20 people for the same file... also, you doesn'y have to reconnect after priority change, just close the dl slot and force it open after that to have your highest priority queued file for that user begin. and ...

you have to keep in mind that people on your hub may be on other hubs....

thus smo having 10 dl slots open may only use 12 in your hub and the others in others hubs...

again we have the trouble to find what is your max download bandwith...
and the max upload bandwithof the one you are connected... otherwise, you could slow down a download thinking the other one will go faster but if he is at max upload, you will lose total bandwith!

users should have the choice to enable this option for their files or not...

I recall someone saying it took a while to /refresh his files... If the metadata must be extracted from them at the same time, it may be worse...

Well I do have the same problem except that my limit of upload is not in quantity but in speed...

There are some clients which are limiting the upload speed but I can't tell you which one since I'm not using them.

it could be an extension to the protocol... you just send a particulat message if the other client support it (DC++ client only) and the refresh is done!

It could be hard to normalize... it can't be a list like the shared list because the files aren't analsed to check filesize... Thus it can't be searched... It could only be a file somewhere on disk which the client uploads whenever there is a request for it. Meanwhile you can always ask the person's...

but that's equivalent of having a different number of slots for each hub... that has some good and some bad... example of the bad side... you which to download something from someone who has free slots but none in the hub you are... and it could be worse... Well in Settings-->Advanced there is a checkbox to "Popup private messages". Try to uncheck it to see if that's what you want!
