DC++

Dunno about the US, but I know that over here, in Europe, ISP's are going a bit mad for the caches - the ones who've actually seen them in action, anyhoo. The legal position is a little different over in the US, but many ISP's may still go for it, because these systems pay for themselves very quick...

I know that we can not know what the peers are going to download. But it would be a greate feature to have a list of users that recently beed rejected during no slot.

My tougths was more the windows way. shift-rightmousebutton. And for the commandline I want completion as the 30 year old TOPS and regexp as the unix. /grant *meg* or something generates slot grats for all users with meg in their name.

It would be very nice with a short command from the chat window to do grant slot fot the oponent in the chat.

You get a request from one of the hubs. You do an connection to the other host. You know what hub that user request is from, and then you can send the correct filelist for users on that hub. 1. Dont switch until you have a new slot.
2. Nice to have the minmum speed limit for both up and down. If you have a big file you whan to send you want to send them quickly. Maybe in % of the number of slots and only when all slots are in use.

You can't do an outbound connection and dont know what it is.

And a sub prio based on the numbers of avail sources and the size. Smaller files first. (Markov chain-queue theory you know...) Will give lower average queue times.

I have download some stuff with lots of files. It's hard to get DC++ to find
them all. A nice feature would be that it tries to match the download queue with downloaded filelists. I thougt it did that, but at least did not work with this stuff.

It don't matter if they are on passive or active ports. If they are on passive ports they get there requests from a tcp-socket. And the client should know whats in the other end of the socket.

Since I run two clients at the same time now. They have diffrent shares.
That's a very good proof that it is possible. It's maybe hard, and maybe not worth it. But for sure not impossible.

In the list favo hubs, I think it would be good to have different share definitons. On some hubs there are only films. Other not mp3 or software. So it would be very good to have some speciall shareing for speciall hubs. Now I have to use the smallest common accepted share folders. So I can not be o...

Any ideas why the removed that feature? Is nice that the default is i uses the already loaded version. But a parameter telling which instance would be nice.
