It is not the number of directories but the length of the pathname. DOS had a limit on the length of a file pathname. It was not the size of the file nor other programs using the file, but the problem is the number of submaps where the file is in eg. C:\Documents and Settings\user\Bureaublad\The Stepford Wives 2004yqoomgnv.avi ---...
