And this problem is further perpetuated by an issue that can easily be solved, by removing the monopoly powers of the default hublists. DC has been at the mercy of hublists since the dawn of DC++, and still the issue hasn't been resolved once and for all. Absolutely pathetic.

DC++ gets laggy while being in hubs with more than a couple of thousand users. Which is fine by me since they're all crap anyway :) Stay in smaller hubs and DC++ works well.

Why not restrict the amount of simultaneous auto searches if you want to reduce the strain on hubs. ie no more than 10, and maybe restrict the amount of search results per auto search to say 100, then it wont search anymore.

Simply close the hub windows when your downloads are complete and that will leave your uploads going without any new ones starting.
