thanks
Well thank you for the answer. I would have searched but the hub was so slow (probably because sourceforge was swamped) that I did not even get the stickies/FAQ's on the top to download - however it might be good to have this in the base packege. Also some hubs do not welcome anything other than "pl...

minimum download speed
This feature would be especially important since DC++ does not support multiple download sources (which I think is OK). Basically: Close connection if download speed less than x kb/s over say 15 or 30 minutes. Basically there are users with absolutely pathetic upload speeds because they are using ca...

NetLimiter does work...
Well I have been using the NetLimiter (version 1.22 now) and have had no problems with it. I believe that the earliest beta versions have had some problems with corruption but none any longer. I actually liked it so much I bought it (I also sent some money to Arne via PayPal...). There are of course...

cygwin
You could download a package called cygwin. I have not tried but I am 99% certain that it can run Bash scripts (at least simpler ones) on windows.

good ideas - in my opinion
I think that refresh and away buttons/menu choises would be fine (I am still using the "Peace Edition" so I don't know if something has changed recently). Especially the /away message should be stored somewhere in the options. I at least find the current auto-message a bit too offensive for my taste...

seti at home
I too think that "folding@home" is more likely to generate useful results. There is however something quite interesting going on at seti@home. 18-20.3.2003 they are checking some 200 best candidates to see whether they really have an extraterrestial origin. It should be pretty convincing, altohugh t...

GargoyleMT: About the 0Kb event: It does not seem to happen simultaneously at all hubs, now that you mention it. I have not really checked. I have mainly noticed this when I have gotten kicked/banned for sharing 0kb. I then refreshed on all hubs, but I have never had problems like this on more than ...

Auto-refresh is good: the Okb bug
I don't know what causes this but I have experienced on a number of occasions the so called "0kb bug" - share dropping to zero on the list. I have gotten banned because of this (I normally share 120 Gb). The ones that have not banned have suggested the /refresh works. It is because of this that I fi...

Symlimiter
This is not an uplimiter request: I however do think that there should some sort of band-limiter. Some people are sharing connections with a group of households and connections also get bogged down if the upload band is completely full. But I also strongly feel that none of the solutions in operatio...

simple solution:symlimiter (but to what problem)
 I wonder why this has not been proposed more often (to my knowledge). :? Basically I would not second a kind of "ratio" idea. In DC++ you can go to a hub which has a required share limit approximating your own share. There will then be enough for everyone. This is a major improvement. I howev...
