Protocol is protocol, some things you can influence through the hub, some things you can't. It should be pretty obvious by reading a protocol guide what things you can do. I doubt DC++ has made any big changes to the protocol from version to version.. well, unless you count the ADC changes, but thos...

Already in the works. Look for it in DC++ 0.402.. although 1MB is probably a bit too small, since all the partial hashes have to be saved in the hashdatabase.. it get's quite big if you have a lot of 700MB (or bigger), um, text files. Google for Tiger Tree Hashes and you'll see what makes them so us...

Yes, essentially worthless if you think it will somehow make your users more safe than otherwise from prosecution. But anyway. I'm thinking the easiest way would be to use a script that enforces a single password protection to the whole hub on entry, and then change the "enter password" question to ...

Well, if anyone ever put in this feature in a DC client, i sure as hell hope they won't be running it over the hub, but straight from client to client. That being said, DC++ isn't really a chatting program, it's a filesharing program. The chat function is more of a bonus. I'm sure there are webcam p...

No, I don't see how it can't be done. Sounds great! When can we expect the patch? Those who work with the DC++ code say that there are too many things in the DC++ code to change and too many protocol limitations to do this in a good way at the moment. But then again you'd know that if you'd looked ...

Are you running a hub at all, or are you just an OP or user in one? A Hub is a DC-Server btw. If you are indeed running a hub/server, what is it called? (the hubsoft). Chances are it's either Yhub, Ptokax or Neo-Modus. You can usually find it at the top of the Interface of the hub. If you absolutely...

First, you'd have to download the filelist of every user in the hub, not many scripts can do this so you'd need a client/bot. After you've done that, it shouldn't be too hard to parse them together, but would require some kind of custom program. The hard part would probably be to handle duplicates a...

Re: Wow... include this please!
One feature you could enable once hashing is widespread is something like "Never download a file you already have" or similar, which would check the hash against your own database and stop you from downloading stuff you're already sharing.Sargasso wrote:1.
