To me, it seems that you are not looking at the DC comunity as a whole. Whats the difference if you are connected to 10 hubs with 100 each, or one with 1000? None. The whole (1000) pack of user has the exact same shot at your upload slots. If someone has 6 slots open for 2 hubs, it doesnt matter how...

I have Comcast cable.. about 1.1mbit down and 256k up. on a side note, Full Duplex, Asymetric do not mean in any way that your upload will affect your speed. It is not something that only DSL lines have. When you upload something to someone and try to download at the same time, the "acks" for your d...

Client to client chat.

Would it be possible to make a Client-to-Client chat? If someone gets disconnected from a hub, you still can contact them..

/me thinks this is a great idea and is glad it poped in his head.

Well, yes. I was trying to find a solution for the first problem (speed of the filelists). Not start another thread about hashes ;) Hash would greatly help (making this thread pretty much useless except for the first 4 posts. ;)

What I meant is that it could be a "self-service" rather than depending on others. You don't send/receive hashes, you just build a database file with the name+filesize as a hash. Im saying name+size because obviously, there are more than 1 file with the same size. Keep in mind that this kind of thin...

The whole reason to not doing any sort of hashing is because it is not implemented in the real client. Now, I am not sure if over 50% of the people are using DC++ nowaday, but if they are, MD5 should be implemented. Another problem would be that people that have NMDC would be skipped, which is, obvi...

Re: Offline Search

I know someone said that he would like to see DC++ look in filelists for alternates... I think that DC++ should check in all the filelists downloaded for alternates. That way, even if the users arent online, at least they're added to your download queue. I agree. A couple implementation questions c...

Just a thought ;)
