i'm not an expert but isn't it true, that in order to do this you must trust all the users in the hub? as far as i know the bittorrent allows anyone to connect (or does so in my experience) so theres no level of trust at all in that, i assume in theory you could fake file blocks to mess up someones...

Just watching how many users queue the same file from me, especially if it's relatively new shows how much a bittorrent like addition to dc++ would help speed up data transfer for all but the first people in the queue (who would remain unaffected).
