I'll speak a bit on BCDC++ since it's on topic. It's built off of current dc++ source. They have added scripting, hash searching, bandwidth limiting, stealthing. I don't have much choise when it comes to the issue of bandwidth limiting. My cable connection is capped at 32kB/sec if i upload at that s...

I don't care how it's solved that's the computer programmers problem. I have been programing for years, but when somebody doesn't even have the curtasy to tell me how they want something change, that makes me mad. This isn't a feature request, this is a complaint. And in the world of freeware, you ...

Encrypted file transfer
At this point in time using dc is becoming a bit of a hazard.
I think encrypted client-to-client communication would be enough.
It would use public key encryption, and the hub would give out the keys, making it very difficult for listening in on communications.

An idea for hub security against bots
This is my Doorman idea. You are running a network of hubs. You want to get rid of search bots, spiders and other nasty users. You set up a simple hub that has no search, no userlist, nothing except user authentication. This hub also is a bot in the hubs that it acts as a doorman for. These hubs wil...

nmdc FIX in dc++
what gets me mad is when some NMDC client has thrown some error and it downloads the same file for eturnity. As soon as the client finishes it starts again. I would like to give that slot to a more deserving user. could a feature be added to detect that sort of behavior from a client and just not gi...

about hashing. Hashing takes ALOT of CPU time on big shares. need proof get the XS client. it's a filesharing community that has hashing. You have to wait forever for it to hash everything. It has to read EVERY file you share to compute the hashs. Yes it is a great feature but building the filelist ...

I've been thinking about this alto recently. Here is my proposal on how to do it. FIrst if this enabled all download slots and such control is handed over to the code. You will only be able to control priority's. And the number of requested slots per file. download slots will be opened as long as th...

free stuff is better aslong as it infact free (not stolen, not shareware, no adware, you get the picture) the tools that are out there are acurate to a point. I have used Mosearch & Glo search to track users as they change hubs (they were runing from me :D ) I don't think it would be wise to have a ...

if not all the features some of the features would be cool. Like the ability to narrow the list of users shown in the user list. Browse to file, from a search box. Searching in main chat quoting in main chat when you open a chat box it tells you if the user is online... search alternative in context...

i see you want to make DC pretty. that would be cool but not to pretty. i hate apps that loose function to being pretty. and i don't want performance hits because it's loading pretty pictures. A skinned interface might be nice. but odd shaped windows are hard to deal with on a rectangular screen. wh...

Re: Plz don't!
There already are some users that tunnel their connection to get into hubs that have a 10Mbit-only rule. Who is providing the endpoint for the tunnel that these people are using? It seems there's another solution to this problem... ? Who is providing the endpoint? servers that can provide an endpoi...

why asf
the .ogm video container has gained allot of ground. VirtualDubMod handles both .avi and .ogm The stream splitter is more advanced then the avi splitter. And because of it's obsucrity fewer people encode in it. So what is out there in the ogm format is higher quality. Some anime is in the ogm format.

DC++ & oDC merger?
It would be cool to have the oDC mods merged back into DC++
the only difference between the two clients is the interface.
very little of the rest of the code has been changed.
oDC is not a cheating client.
check it out.

:D look cool but :roll: it is a DC++ rip (the icons give it away) it needs ALOT of work done... it doesn't do passive yet... and only the basic functions work all the others a) don't exist b) don't work some sorting works others don't. what i do like infotip for users i wish dc++ would do that... mu...
