Re: "It's not a bug, it's a feature!"
You have some very valid points but might it not be more appropriate to address them at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org or thereabouts? Well... yes. But... I hate registering. I hate having to register on a hub so I can do downloads. I don't hate to register on the DC++ forum, because I think that's r...

"It's not a bug, it's a feature!"
I finally got off my lazy ass and decided to join bugzilla to put up some suggestions. After a few moments using it, here are some suggestions on bugzilla itself: I) An engineer made it. Which means it's a) technically functional, b) visually horrible and c) lacking simplicity in it's use (though th...

The search screen
Making it less cluttered. I don't really need to know 50 users have FileX I want, but I do want to know FileX has 50 sources. As in A) vs B): A) file (+) (50 sources) details (TTH, and anything else relevant) B) file name_________________details (user name, IP, TTH, slots, etc etc) file name________...

No, they're for looking for specific content in file lists. This guy wants to find make (from my read) a "top 10 files downloaded" list for his hub. DC++ cannot do this without significant modification. Well the Spy Search (which was the one I couldn't remember the name) can give you a list of "Top...

Favorite users
This one's a tiny one. Would it be possible (if it is not already implemented) to have my favorites users match queued and checked for slots before all others? I've been adopting a "Excelent download speed? Welcome to my favorite user list" policy lately, and I'd like to make the maximum use of it. ...

It was you who was interested in it.. Yup. But I don't feel like getting kicked out of several hubs I actually like, hence I resorted to the community's experience (or lack thereof) on the subject. Since it's an add-on for the official DC++, I'm hardly going "Hey look at my hastily made and bug rid...

Well then you just go right on ahead and install it. I'll just wait for the feedbackivulfusbar wrote:We would love to take part of your experience with the client in question!
And it's not a client, it's an add-on. Clients don't need a fully functional version of DC++ sitting on the computer to work.

I believe so, but I haven't looked at the code to reinforce that belief. There should be up to three slots used beyond what you have set up, but they will all be populated by file lists and other files with "Highest" priority. I believe it's touched on in the changelog, which is a bit unwieldy, but...

If you limit the number of your downloads using the setting, DC++ should only use three "download minislots" (for high priority files and file lists). Okay, that makes me slightly confused. If I limit my downloads to 3 slots only (thus only grabbing 3 files at once), then more file lists will be do...

Well I have 600GB+ of files I want, so I can never have enough sources. ;) My TTH searches focus on the things I want with a high level of priority, but there are literally thousands of files on my wanted list that have no sources since I upgraded (.688 ate the sources list). And there's no way to g...

No technical reason i think. But a practical one perhaps. Limiting the bandwidth will render this feature more or less useless, since the filelist will take forever to download if you've limited the bandwidth and there are a lot of lists to match. The fuldc feature to limit the amount of lists you ...

So you'd basically mash in the user information available in the right corner of the hub screen with the file information when looking at search results. Sounds like TMI to me. But perhaps implement a "pick a column" function? Like "I don't need to see TTH but I do need to see slots and file name" s...

Chat feature
Simple, yet very useful. The ability to hit the up arrow and have the last message sent into chat pop up, just like in IRC. Hugely useful for hubs with very strict spamming policies, keeps you from having to type that two or three line sentences all over again because the server thinks you're spammi...

Re: search intervals?
I propose somehow of putting a lock in the dc++client to tell you not to search. This will make it easier to know that the reason you are getting no results is because you have a search interval on you. Of course, if you continue to search your time interval rises. Maybe putting a option in advance...

Random user list downloads
This bit's got me curious. At this point I have no idea how many random lists I download in X amount of time and why that is so. Is this number set by the hub I'm on? Default DC++ value? Does anyone set it at all? I don't understand how it works. Perhaps a "Use % bandwidth for random file list downl...

Well I don't know the appropriate technical term, but unified TTH sounded good. The unique code that (most) files have on DC++ is a TTH, right? Or a hash number? Something like that. If the same "hash generator" was used to generate a hash code across all the networks, then every file would have a u...

I've been dabbling with other programs lately and it seems to me that there's no reason why a unified TTH can't be created (apart from the "this is my little castle, you can't play with my little castle"). Shareaza offers two distinct ID's for every file, for example (The e2K network ID and the I fo...

The other half of the problem is that the connecting side offers you nothing more than their nickname to identify themselves. So if users with the same nick exist on multiple hub...

One thing I don't understand is different hubs have different hub search intervals. In other words how can 1 hub block searches to another hub? For example, Hub A has a search interval of 5 seconds and Hub B has a search interval of 10 seconds. Due to Hub A's 5 second interval it automatically puts...

To be quite honest, this feature is only relevant if you want to share porn I see no great loss in implementing it. In regards to the use of this feature for "cheating" on your shares... If you have 100GB worth of stuff to share, why only share 5GB? It's not like your slots won't get grabbed all the...

In a nutshell : Small box in options, "Close download if speed is below #Kb/s" Why we need it : Because I get alot of low speeds downloads from other users.
