Even if http tuneling is supported, it's very possible that your network admin has port 411 blocked through the proxy. Tunneling would not change that, and you would still have issues.

I think the reason arne is bringing this up is because the reporting side of this is the first step and also very easy to implement.

Using the data in some meaningful way is the second step, and it may require other features to be implemented like your Upload Queueing.

I don't know how golsearch works, but MoS++ doesn't send the search commands until the $hello <nick> is recieved from the hub.

The $hello command does not need to be sent to the rest of the hub, but it does need to be sent to the search client.
